Diversity and Inclusion

“My simple thought for today…One of the beautiful things about jazz performance is that it usually reflects deep layers of cultural diversity.  It represents inclusion…not just in diverse cultural representation but ideas.  When cultural diversity is embraced it brings varied sensibilities into the mix and greatly widens the narratives.  One perspective is just that…one perspective.  One viewpoint.  One decision.  Jazz diversity could be improved yes, particularly in the educational arena but it’s still far ahead in diversity structures.  Organizations can learn an interesting and valuable lesson from jazz music’s concept of inclusiveness.” – Jae
